Having flung myself around Plimbeau ZE-R e4-2732 2 F A like a metal ball baring ricocheting about a pinball table, I packed up the SRV and headed back into orbit where I circled for a while, trying to figure out my next steps. Maybe I would revisit some of the sites I had to abandon due to time. I mean, all I have now is time as I quite literally missed the boat, vessel, carrier, however the saying goes. I missed it and now I am the master of my own NYND 3308 extended edition.
First port of call will be to travel back to Explorer’s Anchorage. It will be a long trip home with no carrier stops to stock up on previsions. Also, I had used all the shots on the film camera and I needed somewhere with gravity to process the film. Artificial will have to do.
I will rent a suite in one of the habitation rings for a couple of days, rest up, plan my journey home, turn the bathroom into a makeshift dark room and probably prop up the bar. I sent a request over to the accommodation department on EA and booked a single occupancy room, two days should be enough, this rough and ready plan was coming together rather nicely.
I reached the station early; I had an hour before I could check in to the room. This was not a bad thing as I needed to pick up some components to be able to develop the film; coffee, vitamin C, lemon juice and washing soda.
I walked around the station for about three quarters of an hour, being so far from the Bubble there was not much here. I am guessing the demand for everyday items is probably very low, I think most people will be looking to relax or party depending on their reason for being here be it business or pleasure. Hmm. Locating washing soda may be harder than I thought.
Checking the station plan, I was a twenty minute walk away from my digs. Peering at me from behind the map panel was a bar, and, well, it would be cheeky of me to walk on by and not have at least one ale.

Steadying myself on the furniture I tried to explain to the barman that I only wanted the one pint, six credits a jar is apparently the going rate out here. I paid up and tucked myself into a corner and started to browse the Galnet updates, I had been out in the black for a couple of months now so was quite behind on current events.
My expensive beverage seemed to disappear in the blink of an eye, reading about Emperor Arissa being frozen for a year without anyone raising a finger and then about her swift and brutal retribution made me miss the charade of inhabited space and filled me with pride that she was “my” Emperor. As I collected my things and readied to leave, a stack of fliers on the bar caught my eye. Pilots Federation meeting, 3308-02-25, that was tonight. Could be interesting, I thought. After all, me being a heroic explorer I don’t often get to engage with other pilots.
As I meandered towards my accommodation of the next few days, I happened upon a convenience store where I found a small carton of washing soda hidden away on the rear shelving, together with something called Marmite, apparently a yeast extract. The packaging was pretty faded, it looked as if the stuff was as popular as the washing soda.
I checked into the accommodation around 16:00, unpacked my things and setup the ensuite for the film development process. The development kit consisted of a tank with a screw lid that had a funnel built into it, a film holder that sat inside the tank, a measuring beaker that will act as the container for the developing mix. I decided I will just dump the film into the sink filled with the lemon water mix to stop the process.
Mixing the coffee, vitamin C, and washing soda together with water created the developing fluid. I set it to one side since the time was close approaching 17:30 and I would need to head out if I wanted to catch the Pilots Federation event.
