Needing some hull repairs and wanting to install the cruise assist from the Gaston-Leroux in the Hiraeth, it was time to head back to the Luna Hyperlight. She was currently in system Dumbae AB-W e2-6331. She would be there for another twenty four hours, before leaving for the next waypoint on the NYND expedition.

With a little over twenty jumps, I figured I had time to fit in a little more exploration on route.

The journey was pretty much, uneventful. I stopped in system ATHAIP VR-H D11-3617 to scan a ringed water world, which was nice. I checked out an ammonia atmospheric planet in system Dumbae NT-P D6-4167, discovered some interesting biologicals there. Running short on time with two additional bio signals to check out, i logged the system in the nav computer to come back to at some point. I came across some [], which I had never seen before. These things were giant and impressive, they reminded me of trees you would see in images of old earth so I decided to name “Old Bois”. Thinking this game me an idea for a phot for my antique camera, I balanced it on a rock pointing towards the Old Bois and set the mechanical timer. Dashing in front into its field of view and trying to stand prim and proper in front of my discovery the mechanism whirred followed by the tame click of the shutter.

Oh and I got stuck in a ravine on ATHAIP PK-B B47-14 C 4 for well over an hour.

It was not until I reached my destination that I first felt as though my eyes were going to end up in the back of my skull before feeling as if they were being pulled into the cockpit view screen… in rapid succession. This was Dumbae AB-W e2-6331 also known as Vertigo, the reason for the nickname became all to clear to me in that instance.

I scanned the navigation panel for the Luna, hoping she was not in the exclusion zone of one the giant fireballs that inhabit this system, unlike the time she was parked up in Boepp UE-Q e5-2104 a few weeks back. Mercifully she was in orbit around the blackhole that was currently rearranging my sanity.

Once docked, a transmission flashed up on the public channels. Canonn Reseach, subject, Nonhuman Signatures. Excited that we may have stumbled upon another intelligent lifeform, I opened the communication and began to read frenetically.

More and more reports of Thargoids, to be specific, Thargoid sensors have been coming in from explorers reaching across the galaxy. These were not limited to the Pleiades and other nebula surrounding the bubble, suggesting the daffodils of terror have spread their roots further than we had first thought.

I had the Hiraeth sent down into the hanger bay to have the supercruise assist module transferred over. It was at that point I was reminded I had brought an additional ship to the Gaston-Leroux with me. Mr. Spaceship, my Cobra Mk iii. The first ship I bought for myself, decked out in the stars and stripes livery, cruise assist in that was a bit redundant. I had the module lifted from him instead.

While the engineers tinkered away with module donation I took a quick trip down to the Universal Cartographic department onboard. I was starting to think that it was me and not the Universal Gartographics’ data logging service that was at fault, having to log out and back in after every page of data that I submitted just to have it refresh from my memory core.

With the modifications to The Hiraeth complete, I made a fly by the system’s blackhole and K class giant. Course plotted for FMyriesly HR-N e6-4354, then it will be onto Sagittarius A*

I tapped the random button on the discman, the disc spun into life, I engaged the frame shift drive, closed my eyes and listened as the COVAS counted down.

“five, four, three, two, one… engage”.

The music rose “Far away a voice is calling”
